Shaun White couldn't skate the PR Banks in Cleveland . The Puerto Rican kids would throw bottles and bricks at Carrot-Top .

It like a tony hawk bike.
I don't get it.
Well I do. A way for the companies to get rich off pro athletes. And for pro athletes to get richer.
I can not sit still. I have been tested for A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. and have neither. I don't need coffee, I just need a B.M.X. or surfboard to consistently ride and I'll be happy.

I hope she likes the bike, but have to ask; why were you looking at, and buying, heavier steel skate/street bikes, mostly intended for teenaged boys (and up) instead of an aluminum race bike? DK makes cheap ones of those and would be more race worthy and fun to ride for any 10 year old.

Look at this Department Store POS that Tony Hawk lent his name to...C'mon , buy your kid a decent skateboard and not some China Wood piece of crap .

The DK Fury Jr seems a little small, but a bigger DK Sentry can be had for under $200 and doesn't seem entirely race purposed, but I like the idea of a lighter bike. Think a 10 year old boy would fit on that OK? DK site specs a 20.5" TT and 175mm cranks.

Take the Shaun White Thrash 3.5 for example...
A chromoly bike and chromoly forks with 5mm dropouts
threadless head
2 piece bars
3 piece crank
25t sprocket and 9t cassette, sealed hubs and BB
1 piece saddle and post...The geometry looks OK too. For $150. But it's a Shaun White bike?
150 for a white trash 3.5 is a great price.
they retail for almost 400 bucks
I love how it say all specs and materials examined PERSONALY by Shawn White. Is it true my him or a BMX buddy or an Asian guy with the same name? Me personally,I'd buy used as there are a lot a superb used bikes out there. Check ur local CL. I'm sure u can even find one here rite in the museum or even eBay. If looking for a race bike then without a doubt get an aluminum race frame and not a chromoly park/street bike. If your looking at building from ground up with a good budget and like chromoly,I know Standard and S&M both make them. FBM also use to make on as well so you mite be able to find one used. Good luck

$169. - built by SE a legitimate builder of race bikes.
Use discount code Planet10 and it will shave $17 off...total $152.99SE rules and you can count on Planet Bmx for all you BMX needs.

I wanted to see what we all had to say on this and I gotta say this is the best advice in 4 pages, I would really go with SE if it is in the same price range. The Wally World stuff seems to be pretty good but if you can get something from Ed (Planet BMX)even cheaper that is a really great option!!

Re: Are these newer Shaun White and DK bikes at Wal-Mart any good?
Rear hub with 9t driver is the weak point on that bike. Same junky hub as supplied on the Hyper Spinner. They either lock up "fixie" or strip out completely. Both are an unpleasant surprise when pedaling under force. Wouldnt be so bad, if the axle wasnt 3/8. Impossible to find a quality driver hub without a 14mm axle. Once it goes, you either have to widen the rear dropout, find a 14mm hub with 3/8 flats, or switch the bike to non-microdrive. We've had 2 abandoned at our shop. Both in great shape, but with ruined hubs. Made for some pissed customers. Filled our used parts bins nicely though.

How about this: no matter what you buy, make sure it's properly assembled and tuned, so whatever it is you've at least given it a better chance of surviving, and not injuring your child.

I agree . You have no idea how many sh*tty skateboards I have seen in 18 years of my friend's skateshop being open . I love helping out , like an unpaid employee...lol . I've never bullsh*tted them to sell anything but pretty much showed them the difference from a $95-$115 shop complete that includes a Westside deck by from Pennswood 100% North American Hard Rock Maple from Pennsylvania , a seat of either Venture or Independent Trucks , Powell or Spitfire Wheels , Jessup or Mob Grip Griptape and Mini-Logo bearings .
Now compare that to the $60-$70 POS they bought with pretty much substandard everything . Plastic trucks , the worst . Or bearings that literally have rusted just from exposure to air and dampness without being wet . These skateboards are usually thrown away . When a kid brings in his worn but usuable deck , wheels m trucks , bearings , we save them and donate them to a kid in need .
