CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Criminal trespass

• A blue Chevy Tahoe with tires and bicycles on top of it was abandoned in the 700 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 10:40 a.m. on May 29.

Burglary

• A possible burglary was reported in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 12:45 p.m. on May 29.

Assault

• An assault reported in the 1200 block of Bishop Road was reported at approximately 1:15 p.m. on May 29.

Vehicle accident

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of North National Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 1:50 p.m. on May 29.

Obstructing a public servant

• A subject was cited for obstructing a public servant in the 300 block of Southeast Carlesta Avenue just before 2:05 p.m. on May 29. The case is under investigation.

Suspicious circ*mstances

• Suspicious circ*mstances were reported in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard at 1:10 a.m. On May 30.

Overdose

• An overdose reported in the 500 block of Southwest Parkland Drive at approximately 6:50 a.m. on May 30 is under investigation.

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Criminal Trespass

• A 37-year-old woman was arrested on an outstanding state Department of Corrections warrant after officers responded to a report she was trespassing in the 1200 block of Mellen Street at approximately 6:05 p.m. on May 29.

• Two homeless people were trespassed from a business’ property in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue just after 8:45 p.m. on May 29 for reportedly bringing personal items onto the property.

Vehicle accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue at 6:35 a.m. on May 29. A vehicle struck the side of another vehicle while merging.

DUI

• A 36-year-old Centralia woman was arrested at the intersection of Eureka and Noel avenues just after 9:25 p.m. on May 29 and was booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for DUI and reckless endangerment. She reportedly struck a telephone pole and a fire hydrant with her vehicle, which had a 6-year-old inside. The child was not in a booster or child safety seat. The case has been referred to Child Protective Services.

Found vehicle

• Officers received a Flock Safety notification of a stolen vehicle in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue just after 10:55 a.m. on May 29. Officers located the vehicle and determined that it had already been recovered and hadn’t been removed from the system by the reporting agency.

Assault

• A 33-year-old Morton man was arrested in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue just before 2:20 p.m. on May 29 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

• A 29-year-old Centralia man was arrested in the 1300 block of Hulien Avenue just before 10:15 p.m. on May 29 and was booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

Drug violation

• An officer responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of West High Street just before 4:45 p.m. on May 29. Upon contacting the occupants of the vehicle, the officers noticed drug paraphernalia items in the vehicle. The occupants were released while a search warrant was applied for to search the vehicle for drugs and paraphernalia. The occupants of the vehicle are being referred for charges.

Obstructing

• A 20-year-old Centralia man was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for obstruction and for a Centralia Municipal Court warrant after an officer responded to a report of a verbal dispute in the 700 block of H Street at 7:10 p.m. on May 29 . The man fled from officers but was located a short time later.

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Wednesday morning and Thursday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 23 illness-related calls, seven injury-related calls, two fire-related calls, four non-emergency service calls, two vehicle accidents, one overdose and two other calls.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Thursday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 132 inmates, including 120 in the general population and 12 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 99 were reported male and 21 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 10 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Thursday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 12 inmates, including seven booked by the Centralia Police Department, two booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the City of McCleary and two booked by the Lummi Nation.
