Going to UGA was the best decision I could have made! It is a great combination between academics and a social scene. I felt like there was always something to do, but there also wasn't immense pressure to go with the crowd. The campus is beautiful with many places to study and hang out with friends. Athens as a whole has also been so much fun to live in. It was more of a small town that I originally expected, but I learned to love its charm. As for academics, I have found great mentorship from my professors, and I have genuinely enjoyed every program I have gotten involved in on campus. There is a lot of freedom to explore different majors and take courses outside of your direct line of study. I always felt challenged but never like I was being given impossible work.

The University Georgia is such a vibrant, welcoming community. Students are academically competitive and strive for excellence. Outside of the school, Athens always has something going on. There are countless places to try new food, meet new people, and just have a good time. There are so many majors to choose from as well as numerous unique classes to take if interested. So far, the university has taught me so much, both socially and academically. I would like to see change in campus safety, which the university has already jumped on since recent events. Overall, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!

I love the atmosphere in Athens. The dining halls, social experience, city life, and campus are all wonderful. The only problems I have with the University are parking and lecturers. The University seemingly allows too many students in, and that results in a lack of parking that affects everyone. I have been on a parking waitlist for over a year now, and since I live off campus that makes it difficult to get to classes. The University has two types of teachers: lecturers and professors. Lecturers focuses solely on teaching, and professors teach and do research. The lecturers usually do flipped learning classes, and they are not very insightful. I am not a fan of these classrooms. Upper level classes are taught by professors, who are seemingly more intelligent and have better class layouts.
