🏃Imagine running a race 🏃You know the distance, it'll be a stretch for you today. But you are prepared to run.You can imagine that you will face some challenges but you feel ready. And you begin to run.The first few miles feel good. You found your pace.Weather is not too bad.You run, you run...😕You start feeling a slight discomfort on your right ankle. You think it's bearable and you're here to finish this race so it'll have to hold until the finish line. So you continue to run. You notice that you run slower but the point is to finish not to win. Not on your first time in this new distance.😰The discomfort turns into pain and soon you are limping. The finish line is still far. You start to think "how can I continue to run with so much pain?"Soon you are thinking "what if I make permanent damage to my ankle just for an ego trip of finish a stupid race?"And eventually you start to walk and even walking is painful. And a few minutes later you call it quit for this time. You will be back next time. You'll be better prepared. That's an analogy to what most of my clients have been through before they work with me.They set a goal, they take the obvious actions and then realize there is adjacent preparation that they haven't done to reach the finish line. In your career, as in running, you need an holistic training to reach any stretch goals. In my program I help my clients define their goals with crystal clarity, along with their why. We set action plans together but we don't stop at that. We assess the obstacles they may face on their journey and plan a way to avoid, work around or crush them. I also support them as they encounter new challenges so that they maximize their chances of success.I work with professionals who want to reach new levels of growth in their career without burning themselves out on their way.If this sounds like you and you are ready to:🎯Know with unshakeable certainty what you want to do next in your career,🪨Have a rock solid plan to achieve your goals at work and in your life,🔥Perform at peak performance AND leave work feeling energized.DM me EMPOWER if you want to hear more about my hybrid workshop. With love,CarolinePS: Picture of me in my running years after a rainy run 😜

Controversial take 🫣Can we all agree that the LinkedIn Article questions are nonsensical? I feel like AI is evolved enough to generate better ones but maybe it’s just me 🤔Is it?

The grass may seem greener elsewhere.Sometimes it is.And sometimes not really. Before you run away to a new role, make sure that the root causes of your dissatisfaction are all in check. So you don’t find yourself in the same situation on repeat.Been there done that! 😉And consider this: sometimes the very job you think you hate is actually the job you want and could love. If you could shift your perspective and see your current situation from a different angle, everything could change for the better. So… what if your job was just perfect? 😉With love,CarolinePS: I can hear you think of all the reasons why it doesn’t apply to you 😅 Trust me when I say, there is a happy ending to your story that doesn’t involve rocking the boat, starting from scratch, or risking what you worked so hard to build.

I’ve written this article years ago and it has never felt more timely to share it (again).Layoffs seem inevitable and are still challenging to navigate. When I was laid off I felt so angry and resentful at first…Until I had enough of my negativity and decided to flip the script in my favor. I hope my story can help inspire more people to see their challenges as opportunitiesWith love,Caroline

Last summer at the beach, I read a book (The Source, by Dr Tara Swart Bieber and did one of the exercises: it was about the 5 people surrounding me the most.)The first 3 names came easily...then the 4th.... ...and for the 5th I needed to be honest with myself: it was one of my clients. 😳 By becoming my own boss, working from home most of the time, I had isolated myself a lot more than I realized. So on that beach, I set an intention: to grow and elevate my circle. That's it! I didn't do much else.A few months later, incredible people started to appear in my life in the most unexpected ways. They have been generous with their time, and knowledge. They've helped me make a massive difference in my life and in my business.Your most valuable asset is not time. It’s who you spend your time with.Do you agree?Who are the people you spend the most time with that make work and life more exciting? I used to have a love/hate relationship with the weekendIt was so good to not go to the office and do whatever I pleased. But came Sunday afternoon I started to think… How short the weekend had been,How I wasn’t ready to return to work on Monday…I thought it was the job.I thought it was the boss.I thought it was the company. It took me to quit it all to realize it had nothing to do with anything other than myself and how I viewed my world. Now I enjoy weekends and my days for what they are: precious time to spend on what I love, with whom I love the most. And yesterday it was this delicious pizza, outside, with my amazing lover Jean-Laurent GAUDY and our wonderful kid, with bird songs in the background.Enjoy your day. With love,Caroline

I’m an introvert (at 61% according to Myers Briggs personality test.)But let’s make it clear: lacking confidence is not just an introvert challenge. It’s a human one. And therefore confidence is learnable. Here are 3 proven techniques to boost your confidence:Expertise - Mastering a skill will help you feel more confident. Duh! I know. And yet, very few people actually invest in up-leveling a skillset to a point of mastery. If you want to feel confident on stage, you’re going to have to go on stage as often as you can until you feel comfortable.Plan for all scenarios - Preparation is key. If you have been able to plan for all scenarios there will be less room for surprise and decision on the spot. It also gives you more serenity walking into the situation.Environment - Largely underestimated and yet so powerful, the people, the narrative and the places you surround yourself with have a monumental impact on you. Spend as much time as possible with people who believe in you and are energizing you will help grow your self confidence in ways words can’t describe.I want to leave you on this: Too much confidence is a sign of stagnancy.Lacking confidence is not a weakness, it’s a confirmation that you are on a growth path. Go get them tiger ;)With love,Caroline📸 Jean-Laurent GAUDY

When I was reporting into the SVP of Marketing I had a monthly time slot with her.It was go time: make sure she had clarity on what I was doing and leaving her with the answers and validation I needed from her.We typically had 30 minutes.Sometimes she would join late coming from another meeting that ran over. 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes late. When this happened and I saw the clock ticking, knowing very well that she had a hard stop at the half hour I could feel my heart pounding. There were so many things I know she wanted to see or talk about AND so many more things I needed from her.How was I going to get it all done in 5 to 15 minutes when I planned for 30?Plus I knew that moving the meeting was close to impossible.I sweated it a few times and then I decided to create an elastic system.I planned my deck for 5 minutes all the way to 30 minutes.ALL in 1 deck. This way each month I knew exactly how to manage our time regardless of how much time we would end up having. And it worked like MAGIC.I’ve used this technique for all my presentations no matter how long.I taught my team to do them using my framework. It earned my team and I praise. I was even tasked to train peers in the Marketing department to follow my method. My team who moved on to other large organizations since have been complimented for their decks. So how do I do an elastic presentation?✅Prioritize - organize your topics in order of priority✅Sharpen - limit the number of words, visuals and ultimately slides you have in your deck to remain focused on the essentials. (Rule of thumb is 2 slides for every 15 minutes of meeting). Add an appendix so that if you are asked to dig deeper on a specific topic you have it all.✅Rehearse (optional although highly recommended) - depending on the audience I can’t NOT emphasize how rehearsing will greatly impact your final delivery.✅Lead - make sure you set the agenda when you walk into your meeting and direct your audience attention to the key points you want them to focus on. Bring everyone back to the topic if there is a digression.Would you be interested if I created a guide to my elastic deck framework?Send me GUIDE in the DM or in comments. With love,Caroline📸 Jean-Laurent GAUDY
